Events Queensland attracts, supports, grows and promotes successful events in Queensland, Australia.

Through building a dynamic and diverse events calendar with strategic investment across a range of major, business and regional events - Events Queensland is supporting regional economies and showcasing Queensland as a premier event and tourist destination.

Events play a vital role in attracting visitors to Queensland and supporting the state’s $17 billion tourism industry – an industry that sustains more than 220,000 direct and indirect jobs. It is estimated that event tourism expenditure contributes $950 million to the Queensland economy.

Events Queensland is the Queensland Government’s lead coordinating agency for Business Events as well as providing support to the Queensland Convention Bureaux in securing Business Events for the state. Events Queensland has invested more than $2.4 million across 22 events with an overall projected economic impact of $74 million.

Events Queensland’s subsidiary company, Events Queensland Gold Coast, owns and operates the popular Gold Coast Airport Marathon and the biennial Pan Pacific Masters Games. The Gold Coast Airport Marathon attracts more than 28,000 participants from around the world while the Pan Pacific Masters Games attracts more than 11,000.

The Events Queensland Regional Development Program (EQRDP) is an investment program designed to extend the flow of economic and social benefits of events to regional Queensland.

In collaboration with local councils and Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs), the EQRDP supports a diverse portfolio of events which help to attract a continuous stream of interstate and international visitors to Queensland while also raising the profile of the state nationally and overseas, encouraging future tourism and investment.

Events that receive funding through the EQRDP vary in size, theme and purpose and range from music, art and food festivals, to sporting events and regional and cultural celebrations. These events showcase regional Queensland, attract visitors and enhance their experience, and retain valuable tourism dollars within the region and state.

Events Queensland has created the most comprehensive portfolio of supported events of any state in Australia with over $20 million invested through the EQRDP across 918 events since 2001.

The Events Queensland Regional Development Program ensures benefits reach far beyond cities and into smaller communities throughout Queensland.

From the roar of the V8s to the suspense of the Brisbane International; world-class exclusives to time-honoured favourites; vibrant festivals to international exhibitions; from pristine beaches to the rugged outback – Events Queensland has it covered.
